Rector

The Reverend David S. Sugeno

david@trinitymarblefalls.org

Dave is a life-long Episcopalian and Texan, born and raised in Austin. He was baptized at St. Michael’s and confirmed at St. George’s. Dave combines a love of God and the Episcopal Church with a love of the outdoors, and experiences God most powerfully in God’s creation. His favorite activities include backpacking, fishing, hiking, and birding. Dave believes that all human beings are created in God’s divine image, and he is driven by the desire for all people to understand that they are beloved, and that their worthiness stems not from their own actions but from the unconditional Love of our Creator.

Dave graduated from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in 2006 and served as Associate Rector at St. James the Apostle, Conroe, before being called as Rector of Trinity Marble Falls in 2009. He regards this call as one of the greatest privileges of his life. Dave lives in Round Mountain (a suburb of Marble Falls) with his wife Amy, and their son Samuel.

Associate Rector

The Reverend Claire Field

claire@trinitymarblefalls.org

Claire grew up in the landscapes of west Texas, and she has been at home in the Austin area since 2018.  Christian life in congregations has been a well-spring of faith her whole life.  Her first church home was Presbyterian, and the Episcopal church has been Claire’s home for some 30 years.  Claire knows God’s love to be vast, encompassing all people and all creation.  Claire also knows God’s love to be very particular, actively moving through us as individuals, families, and communities, loving us through all our complexity, and continuously inviting us into freer, expansive life lived for and with one another.

Claire and her husband Steve live in the small community of Briarcliff in western Travis county, with their two dogs and cat.  Claire enjoys front porch sitting, needlepointing, bird watching, and the three young grandsons who live nearby.
